Marketing and Communications Manager 

Position status: Full time, 24 month contract (with plan to renew) 
Commencement: Wednesday 17 January 2024  
Responsible to: Director  
Direct reports: Administration and Marketing Coordinator (shared) 
Internal Relationships: Director, Business and Partnerships Manager, Gallery Manager and Curator, Arts Program Manager and dedicated PUNQ Festival staff. 
External Relationships: Artists, publicists, suppliers 
Salary package: $72,000 per annum + superannuation guarantee (currently 11%) 
$1,000 relocation allowance for applicants not from the Townsville region

As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in realising Umbrella's vision and mission. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with Umbrella’s goals. This includes identifying growth opportunities, diversifying audience engagement, and promoting Umbrella’s annual program, exhibitions, residencies, special events and our biennial festival PUNQ. Collaboration is at the heart of Umbrella's ethos, and you will work closely with the Director, programming team, and external partners to conceive and execute impactful marketing campaigns. Your role extends to overseeing digital communications, fundraising campaigns, public relations, and elevating the national and international recognition of Umbrella’s work. Additionally, you will lead the evaluation processes, collecting data and analysing key performance indicators to continually refine and enhance Umbrella’s communication and marketing strategies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the thriving culture and creative ecology of North Queensland. PUNQ Festival Creative Producer 

Position status: Full time, 3-year contract
Commencement: Wednesday 17 January 2024
Responsible to: Director
Direct reports: PUNQ Festival Coordinator and Festival Volunteer Team
Internal Relationships: Director, Marketing and Communication Manager and the Business and
Partnerships Manager
External Relationships: Artists, publicists, suppliers
Salary package: $70,000 per annum + superannuation guarantee (currently 11%)

This is an exciting opportunity to work with critically acclaimed contemporary artists. The Creative Producer for PUNQ Festival is a lead role in PUNQ, a 16-day celebration of North Queensland's rich cultural tapestry. With a focus on place-making through visual and performance art, the Creative Producer plays a multifaceted role in delivering the festival's artistic vision and ensuring its seamless execution. In overseeing the four main streams of the festival, the Creative Producer acts as a programmer, collaborator, and facilitator. PUNQ Festival's biennial nature adds a strategic layer to the Creative Producer's role. Long-term planning involves envisioning the festival's growth, sustainability, and continued impact out to the 2026 edition of the festival. The position is responsible for the successful production of PUNQ over two iterations of the festival. We are looking for a highly organised, skilled person with excellent interpersonal skills and strong experience in arts management. PUNQ Festival Coordinator 

Position status: Full time, 12 month contract (with opportunity to extend) 
Responsible to: Director and Creative Producer  
Direct reports: Festival Volunteer Team 
Internal Relationships: Marketing and Communication Manager and the Business and Partnerships Manager 
External Relationships: Artists, publicists, suppliers 
Salary package: $53,500 per annum + 11% superannuation

The Festival Coordinator is a vital role in the delivery of PUNQ 2024. We are looking for a highly organised, skilled person with strong team and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will have a ‘can do’ attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
