Asia Pacific Triennial Kids on Tour
Dana Awartani, Etson Caminha, Harold ‘Egn’ Eswar, Brett Graham, Okui Lala, In Yim Maline and Rithika Merchant
As an extension of the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, presented at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern (QAGOMA), Umbrella is hosting Asia Pacific Triennial Kids on Tour activities.
These activities were developed in collaboration with artists Dana Awartani (Saudi Arabia/Palestine), Etson Caminha (Timor Leste), Harold ‘Egn’ Eswar (Malaysia), Brett Graham (Aotearoa New Zealand), Okui Lala (Malaysia), Yim Maline (Cambodia) and Rithika Merchant (India). The activities draw from the artists’ works, with inspiration including mosaic tile designs, experimental sound and illustrations of nature, people, monsters and animals. Participants can create geometric patterns, experiment with their own sound compositions, draw their own scenes and add to existing digital and drawn landscapes. Two video works will also feature, drawing audiences further into the work.
These free, self-guided children's activities are recommended for ages 5-14 and anyone young at heart. Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
