Tszar
In Absentia is a reflection on our literal human oscillations with nature. A mix of ethereal, satirical, and surreal imagery and sound featuring a shadowy mix of North Queensland flora and contemporary dance.

About The ArtistTszar (Aaron Ashley) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores narrative, connection, alienation, and performance. They also specialize in documenting many forms of contemporary arts through several lenses. Their work is informed by an academic background in the social sciences, a lifetime behind the camera documenting events, a desire for a more sustainable environmental and economic way of life, and a dark sense of humour.
Sabine is a dancer and performer based in Gurambilbarra / Townsville. During her time as an Ensemble member with Dancenorth Australia, she has had the pleasure of performing a number of works on large scale tours of Australia and overseas. As an artist, she finds particular fulfillment in sharing dance in regional locations.
Caitlin Halmarick is a freelance dance artist and graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance, and has attained a Master of Management (Arts and Cultural Management). As a dancer, she has worked in a variety of companies and projects in Australia and New Zealand utilising her training in classical ballet, contemporary dance, contemporary ballet, and Spanish dance. She currently works for Dancenorth as Office and Program Coordinator and as a Teaching Artist in their Community Experience Program.
Nate Swan is a multidisciplinary artist.
All artists are currently based in Gurambilbarra / Townsville, North Queensland.
