Put your eye up to the viewfinder and explore photographer Ann Vardanega's pop up gallery, workshop and making space. The artist's work is minimalist and focusses on space and place. Her exhibition includes unique, infrared photographs that reveal what cannot be seen with the naked eye.

About the Artist

Ann Vardanega is a photographic artist based in Ingham on Warrgamaygam Country. The artist works with light and a range of photographic techniques ranging from the simple camera obscura through to high-tech infrared photography.

Cyanotype Workshop - Ann Vardanega

Discover alternative printing techniques in this workshop with Ann Vardanega. The artist will detail the history of photography as a precursor of the workshop, providing context for the processes to be used. Vardanega will then guide participants to make two distinctive cyanotype prints each, using botanical samples and light sensitive papers.

Learn to use your camera in this introductory workshop with Ann Vardanega. The artist will cover the basics of camera settings, lenses and exposure. Participants should bring their own camera.

Environmental Portraiture Workshop - Ann Vardanega

Learn to work with available light in outdoor environments in this portraiture workshop with Ann Vardanega. The artist will guide participants to direct poses, work with structures and backgrounds, and utilise camera settings (including exposure and depth of field). Participants should bring their own cameras.

Learn to work with available indoor light and use it to your advantage in this portraiture workshop with Ann Vardanega. The artist will guide participants to direct poses and utilise camera settings (including exposure and depth of field). Participants should bring their own cameras.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop Workshop - Ann Vardanega
$30 per person | 1hr | 15 participants | 18+
4-5pm Saturday 7 August 2021
Develop the basic skills required to work with digital images and produce print-worthy photographs in this introductory workshop with Ann Vardanega. The artist will guide participants through the fundamentals of these processes. Vardanega will also offer portfolio reviews, advice and critiques of photographic work. Participants should bring their own laptop.
