We're here for the Northern Queenslander makers. We're here to listen and learn.
artisan, 55 years strong and Queensland’s leading organisation for craft and design, is teaming up with Ingham Art Action for two days of connection, conversation and ideas for professional and semi-professional makers.
The program kicks off on Friday evening with informal networking drinks, bringing local makers together with artisan and Ingham Art Action to meet, share ideas and talk about creative practice in the region.
Across the two days, artisan will share a snapshot of strategic actions emerging from the MADE 2026 Symposium and, importantly, hear directly from local makers about what they need. The conversation will also explore what artisan could offer local makers if the Japanese House Residency became an annual fixture on the artisan program, creating new opportunities for making, exchange and connection in the region.
Who is it for?
Professional and semi-professional makers, artists, designers and craftspeople from North Queensland.

About The Artistartisan is Queensland’s premier craft and design organisation. The makers are central to everything they do. artisan hosts exhibitions, social workshops, professional development, residency opportunities and their retail store.
Queensland is a Makers' State - artisan continually collaborates across Queensland to honour and represent the breadth and depth of emerging, developing and established talent here.
Ingham Art Action Inc. members gather weekly to work, learn, socialise and participate in the ongoing events and workshops presented by local and external artist tutors. Monthly meetings keep the members involved and motivated to learn about what is planned. New members are welcome.
