'Experiment in an inclusive arts space ~ learn, create, share and connect.'

Explore the diversity of The Hub Creative Space's artists in their exhibition featuring works on paper, canvas, found objects, ceramics and textiles. Art on Casey showcase the artists that support the space, including the eco-focussed Sue Bright, ceramicist Fiona Banner, multidisciplinary artist Lynn Scott Cumming, and the printmakers Sandi Heytman, Erin Ricardo and Sandra Wright. Purl the yarn-bombed Mazda will also feature. The Hub will also be running a variety of workshops and visitors will have the opportunity to contribute to the making of a community mosaic which will be donated to a community group when complete.

About the Artist

The Hub Creative Space is a creative co-working venue that opened its doors in 2015. The Hub supports micro-businesses and creatives by focussing on the arts in Townsville and featuring regular classes and workshops. It is a safe place to learn, create, share and connect.

Crocheting for Beginners Workshop - That’s Natty

Learn to crochet a granny square in this step-by-step workshop and discover the benefits of this repetitive and relaxing art-form. Participants will be guided by The Hub Creative Space's That's Natty.

Beginners Art Workshop - Lynn Scott-Cumming
$20 per person | 3hrs | 10 participants | 18+

Pick up a sketching tool and learn the basics in this beginners' drawing workshop. Participants will be guided by The Hub Creative Space's Lynn Scott-Cumming.

Felted Soap Workshop - That’s Natty
$65 per person | 2hrs | 10 participants | 10-17 with adult supervision and 18+
10am-12pm Sunday 1 August 2021
Transform ordinary cakes of soap into delightfully tactile items for gifts or your own use. Participants will be guided by The Hub Creative Space's That's Natty to learn the techniques required for felting soap, including combining and compressing the loose fibers.

Craft Workshop - That's Natty

Discover your hidden talent and learn to craft in this skills-development workshop with The Hub Creative Space's That's Natty. The artist will guide participants through the craft of their choice during this fun and informative session.

Beginners Mosaics Workshop - Fiona Banner
$30 per person | 2.5hrs | 10 participants | 18+
9–11.30am Thursday 5 August
Learn how to mosaic a small and simple design. Explore the art of mosaic in this fun workshop. Participants will be guided by experienced ceramicist and mosaic artist Fiona Banner. Participants should bring their own timber backing and tiles. All other tools will be provided.

Resin Cheese Board Workshop - That’s Natty
$90 per person | 3hrs | 10 participants | 14-17 with adult supervision and 18+
10am-1pm Sunday 8 August
Learn basic resin skills and create your very own cheese board in this workshop with The Hub Creative Space's That's Natty.
