This pop-up is a collective of work by four artists – Margot Douglas, Marion Gaemers, Jane Campbell and Jennifer Yunkaporta .
Margot Douglas A silversmith, jewellery and small object maker of 25 years, participating group/solo exhibitions + Public art projects. Margot has also worked with plant fibrepapers for artist books and sculpture. Plant fibres & recycled materials have been prominent in sculptural work.
A Recent /current focus has seen a shift to photography working on collaborative projects ABC Open/Lenscap 2013-15. Currently, she is exploring small woven objects giving a second life to computer/electrical wiring materials.
Marion Gaemers A contemporary weaver since 1988, Marion is currently using ghost nets as a medium to explore issues of sustainability and recycling.
Jane Campbell An emerging contemporary fibre worker/artist, focusing on coiled rope work, knotting and weaving. For past four years, she has worked/ experimented with hand woven basketry in natural fibres, plus establishing a retail presence for rope homeware products.
Jennifer Yunkaporta A Wik-Mungkan woman from Cape York who is a weaver/basketmaker working primarily with pandanus. With her 30 years experience, she has authored a language book in basket making.
