Gum Nut Blossom

Last Summer in Toowoomba while visiting the University these gum nut blossoms were stunning along the roadway. The blossoms do not have petals but many stamens. These stamens attract insects and nectar feeding birds. Gum nut blossoms are found on many species of Eucalyptus tress around Australia.
