Navigator (crows)

Navigator (crows), 2006 is part of an ongoing series of 2 and 3-d works that consider the physical and spiritual transmission of cultural memory. The canoe presents my preoccupation with recreating passages beyond the material realm; the crows, recently met on an off-shore Tasmanian island, in their shimmering black and uncanny caw, appeared as Ancestors and depthless windows to the past.
