For a brief moment i just exist

For me, art is a form of visual philosophy, a state of mind, a way of exploring and understanding both the external world of reality and the internal world of the psyche. At best it brings the same revelations as good poetry. These thoughts are the sea my art swims in and I use my own sense of self as an anchor. I am my reference point. In the past I have looked outwardly, investigating notions of time and placement. I examined the society I live in and how its underlying currents of archetype and mythology shape both our personal and cultural persona. From this rich source I have assembled an array of symbols and metaphors (both personal and universal( which examine the existential viewpoint of the isolated nature of the individual psyche. Our perceptions shape our limits and in turn our reality. We become our limits. Yet experiences of the sublime offer hope of transcending these limits. These ideas are what I strive to explore through a combination of digital collage, film and installation.
