Making this image has reminded me of the joys of the medium of the multiple, the pattern making and repetition available to printmakers in one way or another. I’ve been looking at inter-relationships and morphic understandings, how patterns repeat through visible energy, or are somewhere imprinted on and in our minds, bodies and souls in micro and macro levels, their relationships throughout myth through to organic structures and an inter-relationship to function within an environment and still manage to leave some fruit on the tree. The photographic source of this image is of the trees beside the Aitkenvale Library, taken some years ago, before leaving Townsville. I have since collected similar, images looking up through patterns of inflorescence and branching. The image has only been manipulated through removing colour, changing scale and repetition.
