Heavy Metal Goat
I was born in Lae, Papua New Guinea in 1971, and later moved to Canberra where i studied at the Canberra Institute of Arts, Australian National University from 1990 to 1994. Since 1996 I’ve lived and worked in Murwillumbah, NSW. My work has been exhibited regularly since 1990 and is represented in collections in Australia and overseas. My work deals with the appearance and reality theme. My painted world is one where nothing s as it seems. A world of poltergeists and fleeting moments frozen, of alternate realities that dream of us. A place populated by people who think everything we do is absurd, but at the same time think we are vessels of some kind of truth. My work is filled with illusions, jokes, tricks and obscured meanings. It revels in life’s inherent contradictions and promotes free thought by allowing for different interpretations. It offers few answers, but a lot more questions. Welcome and enjoy.
