Elizabeth Gray

Artificial Horizon III

This work is from a series of images which explore structures placed by man into the natural world, and the way that time and the natural processes of change and decay move them inevitably back towards the elements from which they were derived. The work takes inkjet images of the structures, and subjects these to the attacks of salt water and rust encrustation, through cycles of wet and dry, to the final digitally explored and printed images.
