Cherylin Scalia

Resident Cat

While working in aged care and looking after clients who have dementia, I have witnessed the truly wonderful benefit of having a pet that resides in the residential facility. Not only does the ‘Resident Cat’, in this particular instance, provide social and emotional support, but he also reduces stress and makes the residents feel more at home. I am a firm believer that pets boost everyone’s well-being – both staff and residents alike.
