Tea Party Collection

My work lies in the experimentation of colour and techniques within the printmaking medium. This is reflected in my current work Tea Party Collection, with my focus in collagraph printing. The theme of teapot was a natural progression in myself – I possess a love for ceramics and the process of taking tea in itself. I believe that the ritualised nature surrounding the taking of tea creates a common bond between people, and fosters a spirit of ceremony. This essence became apparent to me when I lived in Japan, where I observed and partook in such a special tradition. I love the potential for the addition and growth of an individual’s memory bank to take place over tea, with the camaraderie and fellowship remembered long after the tea has been consumed. I see my work as forever changing and always evolving.
