Dimensional rumination

I have been very interested in the idea of using 3D printing to make printmaking plates. In the last year, I have been teaching myself to crochet. This was my inspiration for this print. I used a crochet doily pattern to create a design on the computer for the 3D printer and printed the plate 3mm in thickness. I then experimented with inking and embossing the plate – arriving at the finished print. I like the merging ideas of traditional craft form with modern technology.
