Dropping a line in Wells

I have many fond memories of my summer holidays in the UK. My family used to visit a small town, Wells-next-the-Sea on the north Norfolk coast. One of my favourite activities was “crab dangling”. We would get bacon fat from the local butcher, attach it to a fishing line and drop it it down the side of the very high pier. The art of the game was to keep your crab holding on to your bacon as you slowly pulled the line up and get him into your bucket. What a challenge!
