Printmaking PUNQs

Jill O'Sullivan, Margaret Robertson, Sandi Hook & Karen Landt-Isley

'Ethereal, experimental, technical and conceptual ~ highly skilled printmakers share their work.'

Appreciate the fine art of printmaking in this accessible pop up. The Printmaking PUNQs will guide visitors through the diversity of the printmaking medium, highlighting their artist books, intaglio prints, relief prints and lithographic prints.

Daily tours, demonstrations and brief artist talks will further detail the concepts and techniques of the displayed artworks. Free and paid workshops will enable visitors to take a hands-on approach to the medium, and engage with the printmakers' notion of 'place'.

About the Artist

The Printmaking PUNQs are a collective of Townsville- and Magnetic Island-based professional printmakers - past and present members of the Umbrella Makerspace Access Group. They have worked together since the 2017 PUNQ Festival. Margaret Robertson, Jill O’Sullivan, Sandi Hook and Karen Landt-Isley each incorporate experimental, technical and conceptual printmaking and photography processes into their arts praxis. O'Sullivan and Landt-Isley have lived in North Queensland for many years while Hook and Robertson have lived here their whole lives. They are all lecturers and tutors with extensive experience gained over the years. They have taught printmaking methods including intaglio and relief printing, book arts, photographic processes and digital media at James Cook University, TAFE, RMIT and community workshops.
